sgf ‘12

I forgot to post this a week ago, or in my defense kind of got busy last week with physics and math midterms, so I’m going to post this now.

Sungod 2012 was amazing. At first the lineup wasn’t too convincing, but the two people who came to visit definitely made it incredibly priceless. not to mention valuable? anticipation was definitely built upon expectation, and that expectation was met far beyond. The best friend visited from ucla, and the close friend from home flew down to enjoy the festivities. 

Thursday-went to the pre-clubbing event with the best friend. At first it was iffy, and the dancefloor was crowded, but i’m glad i went. the people there made it worth it-the guy who said he was a veteran on his compliments, the jersey shore guy, cup of coffee guy, and the many individuals who took one too many shots. and then me and my friend= sticking to sobriety. 

Friday- sungod. morning was quite the norm, except with fire alarm at work, and midterm for physics. but at 3, visited carol, then during that time the friend from norcal greeted me with a cheering. oh home, how i miss thee because of the people. and afterwards, the festivities began. went to sungod the first round and saw dia frampton. she played walk away! and other songs that were familiar :) stopped by the dlush tent, wrote on the wall, and danced in the dance tent. went for round two back at the apt, to meet fellow dorm buddy from last year, and went back to the dance tent to enjoy more festivities. hurray! the jellyfish were definitely memorable, and silversun pickups killed it as well as pvd and tommy trash. stayed til the very end this time, because it was amazing. the energy. the vibe. ahha people’s blank stares.

Saturday- woke up past noon, and went to pt loma seafoods. so yummy! saw a seal that alice thought was a fake (?) statue but nope, it was sunbathing in the sun ahah. ate calamari sandwhich which was amazing. walked to black’s beach & cliffs, and made fail sand castles and pottery on the beach. dropped off vi at the airport, and went to phil’s bbq afterwards for baby back ribs (not for me) and cole slaw + potato salad (for me). went to work, and studied for a bit at pc. 

Sunday- woke up very early to go to work. then went to sleep again, woke up around noon, and headed to irvine at 2. ate at kula sushi! yay kaitensushi which was pretty delish for $2 per plate. went to yogurtland while waiting for sushi, and bought 3 pieces of 85 bread (which i finished on monday…) went back to alice’s house, took a quick nap, then headed to ucla. arrived at ucla an hour later, and visited the dorms. ate at covel (such good salad/pizza), and later more food at de neve (onion rings/mozarella sticks) and breakfast at Bruin Cafe (chocolate crossaint and coffee). got a campus tour (architecture is amazing!) and found out where they filmed himym. came back to the dorm at around 2 am…and slept. so many stairs on campus…

Monday- future aptmate picked me up 6 am, made the trip back talking about the value of live music. grabbed breakfast from denny’s (peach smoothie) and headed to campus. 

and that is the conclusion of an amazing, eventful weekend.

im really glad i have people who are there for me, at the worse of times and definitely the best of times. im blessed to have such people who are willing to travel miles just to see me, and enjoy the moment :) Sungod was so much better because of them!
